How often should you get your boiler serviced?

You should get your boiler serviced once a year. Regularly checking and maintaining your boiler can help it to last longer, as well as ensuring you maintain your boiler guarantee. Many boiler manufacturers require annual servicing to keep your warranty up to date. 

Are landlords responsible for boiler repairs and servicing?

Under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, landlords are legally responsible for carrying out repairs on any installations that supply gas, water and electricity. They are also legally obliged to carry these repairs out in a ‘reasonable timeframe’. 

Landlords are also responsible for servicing gas appliances in line with the manufacturer’s guidance. It will be clear within the appliance’s product manual how often these boiler services need to happen.
